Detectives seeking public’s assistance in homicide investigation

The Beaumont Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in the investigation into the murder of Chrishiann Marks.On Sunday, March 1, 2026, at approximately 11:37 p.m., Beaumont Police responded to Pine Club Apartments, located at 5015 Pine Street, in reference to a victim of a shooting.

BPD investigating homicide at 5015 Pine

On Sunday, March 1, 2026 at approximately 11:37 p.m., Officers responded to 5015 Pine in reference to a victim of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located a deceased female inside of an apartment. Detectives have detained a person of interest. The investigation is ongoing.

An elderly man was placed in custody on a $302,550 bond after he was arrested for injury to a child/elderly or disabled with intent to cause bodily injury, interfering with emergency, and assault. Ronald Wayne Harris, 66, was arrested Feb. 21.

K9 assists in capture of alleged burglar

Feb. 19, Beaumont Police Department (BPD) reported officers responded to the 2300 block of South 4th Street in reference to a burglary in progress at 7:16 p.m., and reportedly spotted a male suspect found to be in possession of stolen property; then, the suspect fled the scene on foot.

School bus driver arrested for DWI with students aboard

A Lumberton ISD bus driver was released on a $10,000 bond after authorities said he was arrested for being intoxicated while transporting students.Feb. 23, Glenn Edward Seamans, 65, of Lumberton, was charged with driving while intoxicated with a child passenger younger than 15.

Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard reported that Christopher Glen Stimits was arraigned Feb. 15 by Gina Cleveland, Justice of the Peace for Precinct 4, and bond was set at $400,000.The charge stems from what authorities describe as a recent violent assault involving his girlfriend.
