BPD responds to shooting

The Beaumont Police Department (BPD) reported a shooting March 23 at a residence in the 2800 block of Palestine Street.Preliminary investigation shows there was a dispute between the resident and another subject that resulted in the subject being shot one time, according to BPD.

Joint operation nets drugs, suspect

March 18, Willie Paul Cain Jr., 26, of Beaumont, was taken into custody without incident after a large quantity of suspected marijuana and promethazine was found in a vehicle, according to the Beaumont Police Department (BPD).At 12:35 p.m.

Suspect arrested for March 24 homicide

At approximately 7:45 a.m., March 24, officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Rafes Way in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, Officers located a 31-year-old male subject inside of a residence with apparent fatal injuries.

Suspect arrested in connection with Roger’s Park shooting

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Warrant Division located and apprehended Javian Boykin, 18, of Orange, Texas on Sunday, March 22 in connection with the shooting that occurred at Roger’s Park, March 15. He was taken into custody and charged with Deadly Conduct, a Third-Degree Felony.

Prison officer sentenced for trafficking drugs

Martel Devante Gilliam, 22, of Beaumont, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone on March 11.

Video links man to multiple burglaries

A Silsbee man was arrested in connection with multiple burglaries and vehicle break-ins after being identified through surveillance footage, according to the Silsbee Police Department.

Man indicted for 2021 murder

March 11, an Orange County grand jury returned an indictment for murder against Trennis Termaine Chargois Jr., 32, who was taken into custody the following day, Sgt. Isaac T. Henry III, of the Orange Police Department, reported. Bond was set at $1 million.

Traffic stop leads to drug arrests

March 11, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people on drug charges following a traffic stop on Aery Road in Vidor.Michael Shane Socia, 54, and Diana Lynn Chapman, 37, were arrested and each charged with possession of a controlled substance, 200-400 grams.

SETX residents arrested for child sex crimes

Four Southeast Texas men were recently arrested and charged with child sex crimes.March 17, Cody Clinton Dennis, 40, of Silsbee, was arrested in Hardin County and extradited to Marion County, where he was booked into jail, KTLO.com reported.

BPD seeking assistance in finding stabbing suspect

The Beaumont Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating suspect David Booth. On March 17, at approximately 8:04 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Center Street in reference to a reported stabbing.
