A Florida man was arrested April 8 after a multi-agency pursuit ended in Louisiana, according to the Orange Police Department (OPD).
The chase reportedly began when the Beaumont PD attempted a traffic stop and the driver failed to stop. By 12:17 p.m., Orange police were notified that other agencies were pursuing a 2024 Jeep Compass eastbound on Interstate 10, Sgt. Isaac T. Henry III said. Officers positioned themselves to assist but were later told the vehicle had been lost.
Officers eventually located the Jeep and attempted another stop. The driver again fled, and Orange police initiated a pursuit. The chase continued into Louisiana and ended near mile marker 10, east of Vinton. Speeds reportedly exceeded 100 mph.
Jeremy Rashad Hepburn, 38, was taken into custody without incident and charged with evading arrest with a vehicle, a third-degree felony. He also had active warrants from sheriff’s offices in Sarasota and DeSoto counties in Florida, as well as the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, all related to fraud.
Officers reportedly found multiple fraudulent driver’s licenses in Hepburn’s possession. He was also charged with possession of identifying information (fewer than five items), a state jail felony, and transported to the Orange County Jail.
A female passenger was released at the scene.
