Frisco furry sentenced for trafficking minor

Joseph Ray Robertson, 37, of Frisco, pleaded guilty to transportation of minors and was sentenced to 240 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Richard Schell on July 13. Schell also imposed lifetime supervised release on the defendant.

Man wanted for Beaumont shooting

July 10 at approximately 9:08 p.m., officers with the Beaumont Police Department (BPD) responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Porter Street in reference to a reported victim of a shooting.Upon arrival, officers located an adult victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

July 10, at 1:25 p.m., Beaumont Police Department’s Special Assignment Unit, Narcotics Unit and the Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force were conducting an operation when they reportedly attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle near MLK and Florida Avenue.

Law enforcer arrested for DWI

July 10, following a wee-morning single-vehicle crash in Beaumont, Jefferson County Precinct 4 Chief Deputy Constable Jimmy Arnold Croley Jr., 53, was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Injury to a child lowlights Orange Co. arrests

A 35-year-old man was arrested June 28 for injury to a child, according to the Orange County jail report.Joseph Andrew Bowen, 35, was charged and booked into the Orange County Jail on June 28 for injury to a child. He was being held as of press time under a $150,000 bond.

Traffic stop turns into meth arrest

At 6:52 p.m. June 24, Beaumont Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 2100 block of Delaware Street.The driver, identified as L T Savoy, 41, of Beaumont, reportedly fled on foot from the vehicle but was quickly apprehended.

Standoff ends with suspect’s surrender

A Beaumont man was arrested after a standoff with police June 25.The Beaumont Police Department (BPD) reported that, at 6:08 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Rena Street in reference to a disturbance.

After 30 years, man sentenced for indecency with child

June 29, Hardin County District Attorney Rebecca Walton announced that Judge Steve Thomas of the 356th District Court found J. Santos Reyes Martinez, 65, guilty of indecency with a child, a second-degree felony. The offense occurred in Batson in 1994.

Another suspected Beaumont gunman arrested

Beaumont Police Department (BPD) reported a man was shot and transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound June 25.According to BPD, at 2:26 a.m., officers were called to the 100 block of Virginia Street in reference to a shooting.
