On Monday, Aug 24, Beaumont police responded to a call of a man exposing himself in a sexually act in the 3600 block of 4th Street. The act was witnessed by several children. The suspect, 43-year-old Dedric Earl Cummings, appeared to be directing the act towards the children. Cummings is already under investigation for similar behavior outside a daycare in the 2700 block of W. Virginia Street as the children were being dropped off. Officers have responded to five calls for service during the past five days on similar behavior by Cummings. Officers obtained a warrant and a search of Cummings home on S. 4th, four child-like dolls were recovered, including one that had been altered in a sexually explicit manner, along with other evidence relevant to the investigation. Cummings was arrested on two counts of indecency with a child by exposure and one count of possession of child-like sex doll. The investigation is ongoing.
