Deputies on administrative leave after fatal shooting

Two Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies were placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation into the fatal shooting of a motorcyclist during the early morning hours of Feb. 7. According to a JCSO statement, at 1:04 a.m., a deputy was patrolling eastbound on US.

Three men were shot in Orange over the holiday. Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24, officers with the city of Orange Police Department were dispatched to 2108 Link Avenue in reference to a welfare check.

Argument leads to fatal shooting

An argument between two men resulted in the shooting death of one man and the arrest of the other on Nov. 7, reported Hardin County Sheriff Mark Davis. According to Davis, the shooting occurred about 8:30 p.m. in the 2600 block of Pine Park Drive, a neighborhood off of FM 1122, north of Silsbee.

Landlord sentenced for manslaughter

A Vidor landlord will serve time in prison after he was found guilty of shooting and killing his tenant, according to reports. Oct. 19, Orange County 163rd District Court Judge Rex Peveto sentenced James McClelland, 74, to 12 years in prison for manslaughter.

Police in Orange search for shooting suspect

Police in Orange are searching for a suspect who shot a 21-year-old resident multiple times before fleeing the scene. Officers with the Orange Police Department responded to a report of gunshots in the 400 block of Know Avenue at 7:42 p.m. on Nov. 16, Capt. Robert Enmon reports.

Arrest made in home invasion shooting

BPD detectives arrested a 30-year-old Beaumont man  Jan. 10, in connection to an earlier robbery where a group of masked men entered a home and shot a father in front of his two kids. The gunshot wound left the homeowner paralized, according to police.
