BPD detectives arrested a 30-year-old Beaumont man  Jan. 10, in connection to an earlier robbery where a group of masked men entered a home and shot a father in front of his two kids. The gunshot wound left the homeowner paralized, according to police.

Antonio Monte Jones was one of multiple actors in this crime, but BPD Officer Haley Morrow said they don’t believe Jones took the shot that paralyzed the victim on Pipkin Street Jan. 5. Detectives followed multiple leads allowing them to positively identify Jones, and Morrow said they’re still looking for three suspects.

Although it’s unclear what was stolen, if anything, in the crime, Morrow said BPD believes this incident stems from illegal activity. This investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
