A Vidor landlord will serve time in prison after he was found guilty of shooting and killing his tenant, according to reports.

Oct. 19, Orange County 163rd District Court Judge Rex Peveto sentenced James McClelland, 74, to 12 years in prison for manslaughter. In August, McClelland was found guilty of manslaughter and opted for the judge to sentence him.

McClelland and his tenant, Chris Nicolasora, 38, got into a dispute that resulted in gunfire in January 2017. Nicolasora was struck, ran from the residence and collapsed in the front yard of the home in the 1300 block of First Street.
