A Beaumont man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Lake Charles. On Wednesday, Oct 7, Lake Charles police were called to a hotel in the 3200 block of North Power Center Parkway in reference of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located the body of 42-year-old Monique St. Julian. She had died from multiple gunshot wounds. According the the police department's Facebook page, credible and reliable information identified the suspect as 51-year-old Alton St. John, of Beaumont.
With the assistance of the Calcasieu Parish Office, Alton St. Julian was located in the Vinton area. When deputies attempted to stop him, he fired shots in their direction before fleeing into a wooded area.
After a brief search, deputies located St. Julian and took him into custody without further incident and transported to the Calcasieu Parish Jail. He is charged second degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon. His bonds total $2.6 million
