A Houston man has been sentenced to life in prison for a murder that occurred in Orange. In May of 2025, 22-year-old Robert D'Andre Bill was in the back seat of a car and fired shots into a home in the 2000 block of 6th Street in Orange. One of the bullets struck Charles DeClout in the head. DeClout was airlifted to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont where he died. The driver of the vehicle, James Williams Jr., was sentenced to 45 years in prison in May 2026. The investigation revealed Williams had a grudge against the homeowner. DeClout was not the intended target.
