June 15, an Orange man was taken into custody after allegedly vandalizing multiple properties in Coralville, Iowa, according to 1630KCJJ.com.
Police reported Angel Martinez-Garcia, 24, of Orange, was seen on security footage during the early hours of May 25 spray-painting windows, buildings, street signs, vehicles and other property in the 600 block of First Avenue.
When Martinez-Garcia was later located, police reported, the suspect was wearing clothing and accessories matching those seen in the footage. Police said Martinez-Garcia admitted, in person and over the phone, to defacing specific locations. Investigators said Martinez-Garcia described the letters he spray-painted and stated no one else would use that combination because it was his “signature.”
Estimated damage reportedly exceeded $3,000.
Martinez-Garcia was charged with second-degree criminal mischief. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison.
