June 6, 2026, at approximately 3:11 a.m., officers with the Beaumont Police Department (BPD) were dispatched to the 4000 block of College Street in reference to a major traffic accident.
Preliminary findings indicate that Leosha Livings, 46, of Beaumont, was operating a vehicle traveling eastbound on College Street. Witnesses reported observing a small child, who was not properly restrained, seated in the front passenger seat while the vehicle was stopped at a green traffic signal.

Emergency personnel removed the child from the vehicle after finding the child unresponsive. Life-saving measures were immediately initiated, and responders were able to regain the child’s pulse.
Livings became trapped inside the vehicle as a result of the crash. Firefighters utilized hydraulic rescue tools to extricate her from the vehicle.
The driver of the Ford Expedition was treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital.
Livings and the child were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The child, age 7, later succumbed to their injuries.
Potential charges were pending as of press time.
