May 27, Jatroya Green, 18, of Beaumont, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, according to the Beaumont Police Department (BPD), in connection to a May 16 shooting.
At 4 p.m. May 16, officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Rosine Street in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, officers learned a residence had been struck by gunfire. A preliminary investigation revealed the suspect or suspects fled the scene in a blue vehicle. Officers located several shell casings in front of the residence.
Investigators believe the crime was a targeted incident and not a random act of violence, BPD reported.
The vehicle suspected of being used in the crime was located and seized as evidence. Investigators believe additional suspects were involved, and the investigation remains ongoing.
