A 56-year-old drunk driver was arrested on an intoxication manslaughter charge following an April 24 crash in Vidor that killed a 3-year-old passenger. The crash occurred about 9:29 p.m. on Highway 12 and involved three vehicles.
Investigators identified the driver as Joseph Frank Green, who was booked into the Orange County Jail on a $1 million bond set by Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Rodney Price.
According to Det. Sgt. Joshua Lockett, Green was driving a Toyota sedan. A mother and child were in a Dodge Charger, and the third vehicle was an SUV.
The child, Cooper Woodrome, was critically injured and later died at a hospital. The child’s mother, Katelynn Ann Woodrome, was being treated for serious injuries at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. The third driver transported himself to a hospital.
