Narcotics investigation leads to arrests, weapon seizure

April 10, three men were arrested on drug-related charges after a narcotics search warrant was executed, according to the Beaumont Police Department (BPD).

At about 5 p.m., the department’s Narcotics Unit, with assistance from SWAT, executed the warrant in the 1200 block of Avenue H.

The investigation began after numerous complaints about suspected narcotics activity at the residence, along with reports of people frequently sitting in vehicles outside at all hours. Officers detained 11 individuals, several from inside vehicles parked near the home.

During a search, detectives reportedly found suspected narcotics, a shotgun and other evidence consistent with drug trafficking.

David Broussard, 60, of Beaumont, was identified as the primary suspect in distributing narcotics and was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. Lee Guillory, 54, and Curtis Chopane, 58, were also arrested on outstanding warrants.

The operation was part of the Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force initiative.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact BPD at (409) 832-1234 or Southeast Texas Crime Stoppers at (409) 833-TIPS (8477).
