Murder suspect arrested by U.S. Marshals

A suspect in a March 24 murder case was arrested in Harris County by the U.S. Marshals Service on April 8.

Corey Comeaux, 28, is one suspect accused of killing of Joseph Manuel, 31, of Beaumont.

Manuel’s body was found inside a residence with apparent fatal injuries. Officers discovered the deceased after being called to the 1900 block of Rafes Way in reference to shots fired about 7:45 p.m. Detectives reported that a preliminary investigation led to a description of a possible suspect vehicle. The Beaumont Real-Time Crime Center used city license plate readers, and officers later located the vehicle in the 5400 block of Pine Street.

Bryson Larrie Parkerson, 17, of Beaumont, was arrested on a charge of tampering with evidence in connection with the homicide. Parkerson remained in the Jefferson County Correctional Facility on a $125,000 bond as of press time.

Through further investigation and video surveillance, detectives reportedly identified and spoke with witnesses that named Comeaux as one of the suspects responsible for Manuel’s death. An arrest warrant charging Comeaux with murder was later issued.

Investigators believe additional individuals may have been involved, and further charges are possible. Anyone with information is urged to contact BPD at (409) 832-1234 or Southeast Texas Crime Stoppers at (409) 833-TIPS (8477).
