March 27, Beaumont Police Department Special Services Division detectives reported assisting the U.S. Marshals Service in locating and arresting a suspect wanted for murder in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana.
Working with the Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force, investigators developed intelligence that the suspect was at a location in the city and coordinated a plan to take him into custody.
The suspect, driving a black Cadillac, later left the location, and surveillance units followed until detectives and agents, along with deputies from the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a traffic stop in Chambers County.
Tyren Scott, 30, was taken into custody without incident about 1:30 p.m. Scott, police reported, was found to be in possession of an AR-style pistol and arrested on the outstanding murder warrant.
