Suspect, three juveniles arrested in robbery

One man and three juveniles were arrested after a robbery March 26 in Beaumont, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).

Investigators with the sheriff’s office, Beaumont Police Department and the Violent Crime Task Force were conducting an operation in the south end of Beaumont near Washington Boulevard when a citizen reported a robbery, officials reported.

A canvass of the area led to individuals matching witness descriptions, police shared. One suspect reportedly fled on foot but was captured after a brief pursuit several blocks away.

The arrested suspect is identified as Julio Martinez, 18, who was transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility and booked on unrelated charges. Additionally, three juveniles were taken to the Minnie Rogers Juvenile Justice Center.

Investigators also reported recovery of two firearms, one that was reported stolen.
