The Beaumont Police Department (BPD) reported two more suspects have been arrested and another is wanted in connection with the March 15 shooting at Rogers Park, bringing the total number of arrests to six.
March 15 at 6:14 p.m., officers were called to Rogers Park in reference to shots fired that resulted in two adult victims transported to a local hospital; both were subsequently listed in stable condition. Witnesses report dozens of rounds of gunfire were expended during the assault, some penetrating the Marshall Middle School building directly across from the park. Surveillance video from the campus revealed multiple individuals that investigators believed were connected to the crime.
March 28, Droman Baltazar, 20, of Beaumont, was located and apprehended by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Division. He was charged with deadly conduct — discharge of a firearm — and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. His total bond was set at $800,000.
March 30, Eva Williams, 18, of Beaumont, turned herself in on an active warrant for deadly conduct — discharge of a firearm. Earlier in the investigation, Williams was arrested and released on bond for two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Others arrested in the shooting include Alexander Perkins, 18; Dontae Perkins, 19; Christopher Herring, 18; and Javian Boykin, 18 — all charged with deadly conduct. The investigation remains ongoing.
