Alexis Faults, 34, was arrested March 18 after an officers’ marked patrol unit was struck by an SUV she was driving, the Beaumont Police Department (BPD) reported.
At 9:42 p.m., BPD officers were stopped at a red traffic signal at the intersection of South 11th Street and Westport Drive. While stationary, the patrol unit was struck from the rear by a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by Faults. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived and assisted on the scene.
Upon further investigation, officers determined Faults was operating the SUV while intoxicated. She was taken into custody without incident and charged accordingly.
One officer was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries and was later released. The patrol unit sustained damage and was towed from the scene.
