The suspect in the March 1 homicide at the Beaumont Pine Club Apartments has been arrested and charged with murder, the Beaumont Police Department (BPD) reported March 10.
Timothy Bessard, 24, of Port Arthur, was in custody for murder at the Jefferson County Correctional Facility as of press time.
At 11:37 p.m. March 1, BPD officers responded to 5015 Pine St. in reference to a victim of a shooting and located Chrishiann Marks, 31, deceased inside an apartment. Detectives determined the shooting was a targeted attack related to an earlier disagreement involving the occupants of the apartment.
Bessard was later arrested on an unrelated aggravated assault warrant. Following additional investigative work, detectives obtained a murder warrant March 10 for Bessard in connection with Marks’ death.
