Five days after a man was shoot and killed, the suspect surrendered to police Feb. 11, according to the Beaumont Police Department (BPD).
Charles Siggers, 18, turned himself in on an outstanding murder warrant related to a Feb. 6 homicide. Following an interview with detectives, Siggers was transported to the Jefferson County Corrections Facility.
According to police accounts of the homicide, at 8:37 p.m., officers were dispatched to a victim of a shooting in the 500 block of Woodrow Avenue. Officers located a deceased male in a wrecked vehicle in the area.
Detectives arrived on scene and a preliminary investigation revealed the victim died from apparent gunshot wounds. During the investigation, detectives developed a suspect identified as Siggers.
BPD thanked community members for assistance in making the arrest possible.
