Hardin County grand jury indicts Sour Lake man for child sexual assault

The Sour Lake Police Department announced that on January 29, a Hardin County grand jury indicted Christopher Reviere, 47, of Sour Lake, for Sexual Assault Bigamy, according to a news release from the department.

In addition to the grand jury indictment, the Sour Lake Police Department obtained four additional arrest warrants, charging Reviere with possession of child pornography (50 or more images). During the investigation, Reviere was found to be in possession of more than 1,500 images of child pornography.

On February 4, 2026, Reviere was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Hardin County Jail on four counts of Possession of Child Pornography (50 or more images).

During the course of the investigation, an additional victim—a juvenile at the time of the offense approximately 14 years ago—was identified and interviewed by investigators. Additional charges related to this victim are forthcoming.

This case is the result of a six-month investigation involving extensive cooperation between the Hardin County District Attorney’s Office, the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office, the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, the League City Police Department, and the Sour Lake Police Department. Through this coordinated effort, investigators examined child sexual offenses spanning more than a decade, resulting in charges being formally filed with the Hardin County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

This remains an active and ongoing criminal investigation. The Sour Lake Police Department will continue to work closely with the Hardin County District Attorney’s Office as the case proceeds through the judicial process.
