HCSO: Two women arrested for forgery

Two women have been arrested on forgery charges and remain in jail, according to the Hardin County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) jail roster.

Ashlea Nichol Witzleben, 40, was arrested Jan. 23 by HCSO on five counts of forgery and one count of theft of property, $2,500 to $30,000. No bond had been set as of press time.

Jan. 22, Britney Lynn Calloway, 34, was arrested on an arrest warrant from Silsbee PD for a forgery incident on Jan. 6. Bond was set at $6,000.

Frances Laverne Herring, 61, was arrested Jan. 23 on an Orange County warrant for a harassment case on Jan. 12 and her bond was set at $20,000.

Jan. 21, Dillon Charles Portie, 34, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance case October 2025 by HCSO. No bond was set.

Jan. 20, Justin Wayne Fannett, 46, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and bond was set at $25,000.
