The Orange Police Department (OPD) reported two suspects have been arrested in the May 26 fatal shooting of an elderly man.
OPD detectives obtained two arrest warrants for murder and the pair were arrested, May 29.
James Williams, 24, of Beaumont, was taken into custody by OPD and Robert Bill, 21, of Stafford, was taken into custody by the Houston Police Department and Harris County Pct. 3 Constable's Office.
According to Sgt. Isaac T. Henry III, the West Orange PD, Beaumont PD, and the Beaumont Police Department Real-Time Crime Center assisted throughout the investigation.
At 9:48 p.m. on May 26, OPD was dispatched to a residence located at 2000 6th St. in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered 62-year-old Charles Decloute, of Orange, inside the residence, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
Emergency medical personnel arrived and rendered aid before transporting Decloute to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, where he was later pronounced deceased.
An autopsy has been ordered as part of the investigation.
