Feb. 19, Beaumont Police Department (BPD) reported officers responded to the 2300 block of South 4th Street in reference to a burglary in progress at 7:16 p.m., and reportedly spotted a male suspect found to be in possession of stolen property; then, the suspect fled the scene on foot.

A Lumberton ISD bus driver was released on a $10,000 bond after authorities said he was arrested for being intoxicated while transporting students.Feb. 23, Glenn Edward Seamans, 65, of Lumberton, was charged with driving while intoxicated with a child passenger younger than 15.

Known predator held on $400k bond

Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard reported that Christopher Glen Stimits was arraigned Feb. 15 by Gina Cleveland, Justice of the Peace for Precinct 4, and bond was set at $400,000.The charge stems from what authorities describe as a recent violent assault involving his girlfriend.

Murder suspect surrenders to police

Five days after a man was shoot and killed, the suspect surrendered to police Feb. 11, according to the Beaumont Police Department (BPD).Charles Siggers, 18, turned himself in on an outstanding murder warrant related to a Feb. 6 homicide.

According to Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard, two women were arrested Feb. 15 following an alleged burglary and assault at a residence in Jasper County.
