Vidor man arrested for unlawful restraint

Mark Marie, 43, of Vidor, was arrested June 14 and booked into jail, according to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of County Road 828 regarding a welfare check involving a possible emotionally disturbed person.

Following an investigation, deputies determined Marie allegedly prevented two individuals — one adult and one juvenile — from leaving the residence by using threats and intimidation.

Marie was charged with unlawful restraint, a Class A misdemeanor, and unlawful restraint of a person younger than 17, a state jail felony.
