March 31, 2026, at approximately 6:53 a.m., Beaumont police responded to a robbery at 409 Smoke and Vape, located at 4015 Magnolia.
Preliminary investigation reportedly revealed a suspect entered the store, displayed a firearm, and demanded money and merchandise before fleeing in a gray sedan. Detectives later located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, taking two individuals into custody. As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 800 block of Cuniff Street that led to the recovery of suspected narcotics and a handgun.
The suspects were identified as 29-year-old Damian Mitchell of Port Arthur and 28-year-old Kerry Warren of Beaumont. Both suspects were placed under arrest for aggravated robbery and transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility. The investigation is ongoing and FBI/Beaumont/ Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force is working alongside Beaumont Police Department detectives to potentially pursue federal charges.
