March 11, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people on drug charges following a traffic stop on Aery Road in Vidor.
Michael Shane Socia, 54, and Diana Lynn Chapman, 37, were arrested and each charged with possession of a controlled substance, 200-400 grams. Bond was set at $250,000 each, and both remained in the Orange County Jail as of press time.
Sheriff Bobby Smith said deputies searching the pair’s vehicle uncovered 12.8 ounces of suspected methamphetamine hidden in roofing tar inside a 5-gallon bucket. Deputies also reportedly located information linking the suspects to the distribution of illicit drugs to other dealers in Orange County.
