June 19, the Beaumont Police Department (BPD) reported a suspect was taken into custody in connection with a 2024 shooting.
According to BPD, at 7:54 p.m., officers working alongside members of the Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force received information from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Division that 21-year-old Rashard Brady was in the 4200 block of Dowlen Road.
Officers located Brady and took him into custody without incident on two outstanding warrants for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Brady was transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility.
The warrants stem from a shooting that occurred in the 1100 block of Harrison Street in 2024.
The Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force includes personnel from BPD, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, Nederland Police Department, Jasper Police Department, Groves Police Department and federal law enforcement partners.
