Suspect surrenders after standoff

A suspect surrendered June 9 after deputies attempted to serve a felony warrant and he ran into a home with a firearm, according to Hardin County Sheriff Mark Davis.

Davis said deputies with the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office negotiated with Bo Brian Holder, 37, and convinced him to surrender shortly after 3 p.m.

Deputies attempted to serve the warrant on Josey Lane, northwest of Silsbee between FM 418 and Fresenius Road. When Holder saw deputies arrive, he allegedly ran inside a residence armed with a firearm. Deputies secured the area while negotiators worked to resolve the situation.

Holder was charged with evading arrest, tampering with evidence, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, unlawful carrying of a weapon, burglary of a habitation and burglary of a building in Jasper County. Bond was set at $50,000 on the burglary of a habitation charge. Bond information for the remaining charges was unavailable s of press time.
