A suspect was arrested June 11 following a shooting on Beaumont’s west side, according to the Beaumont Police Department (BPD).
Officers responded at 8:31 p.m. to the 900 block of Park Meadow in reference to a shooting victim. Upon arrival, officers found the suspect’s ex-wife inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS transported her to a local hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
Preliminary investigation indicated the suspect, identified as Adam Bills, 45, arrived at the residence armed with a .40-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun and fired into the home, striking the 43-year-old victim in the right leg.
The couple’s daughters, ages 19 and 21, were also inside the residence.
Bills reportedly fled before officers arrived but was later located and booked into the Jefferson County Correctional Facility.
Bills was charged with terroristic threat, aggravated assault-family violence with a weapon and two counts of deadly conduct-discharge firearm. Bond was set at $552,500.
