June 20, the Nederland Police Department reported a woman was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon-family violence.
At 11:34 p.m., dispatch received a call reporting a stabbing at a residence in the 700 block of Ninth Street. Officers reportedly found a white male lying on the ground with a stab wound to the chest; the victim was receiving first aid from a friend. Officers were advised that the suspect was still also inside the residence, and officers entered to locate the suspect and check for additional victims.
The suspect, identified as Lekotah Philley, 29, of Nederland, appeared intoxicated, police reported. She was transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility.
The victim was treated on scene before being transported by Air Rescue to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in critical condition.
