April 12, multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in a pursuit that ended in Newton County, reported Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard.
Authorities said the chase entered Jasper County around 1:39 p.m. Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and Jasper County Sheriff’s Office deputies took the lead.
The vehicle traveled through Kirbyville and into Newton County, where a DPS trooper used a PIT maneuver to stop it. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
The driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries and charges were pending at press time.
