A 43-year-old male suspect remains in custody after he was arrested on child sex crimes, according to the jail report from Feb. 6.
Emmanuel Elijah Brown, 43, who resides in Hardin County, was arrested by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) for warrants out of Lumberton alleging two counts of solicitation of a minor under 14 and indecency with a child/exposure. Brown’s bond was set at $650,000 — $250,000 for each count of solicitation, and $150,000 for indecency.
Sept. 17, 2025, Brown, a former state correctional officer at the Gib Lewis Unit near Woodville, was arrested by the Ivanhoe Police Department and charged with sexual performance by a child younger than 14 (first-degree felony) and the Class A misdemeanor of distributing harmful material (pornographic) to a minor.
It is not clear whether the new charges are connected to the same alleged victim or circumstances involved in the 2025 case, or stem from a separate incident.
