Two juveniles were arrested following a shots-fired incident and a hit-and-run crash in Beaumont’s west end, the Beaumont Police Department reported.
April 21 at 5:42 p.m., officers responded to Calder Avenue and Caldwood Drive in reference to reports of gunfire and a hit-and-run crash.
Officers learned the victim was traveling eastbound on Calder Avenue when individuals in another vehicle fired a weapon, shattering the rear window. The victim attempted to flee; however, the suspects pursued him. During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle collided with another vehicle stopped at a red light, then fled the scene.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division, including the Persons and Special Crimes Unit, along with the Real-Time Crime Center, continued the investigation.
Two juvenile suspects were taken into custody. One was charged with deadly conduct; the other was charged with deadly conduct and aggravated robbery.
