A former Beaumont police officer has been arrested in Jasper County on a charge of felony assault family violence by impeding breath.
Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard confirmed June 8 that Ray Beck, 74, of Georgetown, was arrested following an investigation into an alleged incident reported to have occurred in 2025.
Beck, who retired from the Beaumont Police Department in 2010 and unsuccessfully ran for Jefferson County sheriff, was booked into the Jasper County Jail.
He was later released after posting a $35,000 bond.
