18-year-old Buna resident Cody Dwayne Vann was arrested and charged with the first-degree murder of Arthur Logan Orosco, who was found shot and deceased along the highway in Buna at approximately 2:30 a.m. July 10.
Jasper County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to the area just south of Tractor Supply Company on U.S. 96 in Buna in reference to an individual lying in the shoulder of the highway, and upon arrival, deputies found a deceased male lying in the improved shoulder of the highway.
The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Arthur Logan Orosco of Buna.
At this time, an autopsy has been ordered.
“Swift teamwork and multiple avenues of information is what it took to get this taken care of so quickly,” said Deputy Karli Cherry. “We’re waiting for the autopsy results to release any further details, but we appreciate everyone who pitched in to help us with this.”
