Less than a year into probation for child sex abuse, Billy Lynn Woolley was again under the custody and care of Jefferson County jail staff Feb. 26, arrested and held without bail pending a bond hearing reportedly set for Feb. 27 in Jefferson County Criminal District Court.

Man sentenced for murder of ‘friend’

After pleading guilty to the murder of a man he called his “friend,” Darian Petry of Port Arthur was sentenced to the maximum allowed under a plea agreement with prosecutors at the end of January. Teen indicted for child sexual assault

The Jefferson County grand jury indicted a 19-year-old man on Jan. 25 for sexual assault of a child, a second-degree felony. According to the indictment, Braeden Antonio Rodriguez, of Port Neches, had sexual intercourse with a female younger than 17 when he was 18 years old.
