In a joint special meeting March 31, Port Arthur City Council members and Economic Development Corp. (EDC) officials discussed bringing a grocery store to the “food desert” in the downtown area.The problem, official stated: There are no major grocery stores downtown.

‘Call out’ to veterans for oral history program

Texas Land Commissioner and Veterans Land Board (VLB) Chairwoman Dawn Buckingham, M.D., issued a statewide “call out” for veterans to contact the Texas General Land Office (GLO) to share their unique stories of service with the VLB through the GLO’s Voices of Veterans Oral History Program.
