The Orange County Sheriff's office is investigating the death of a one-month-old girl as a possible dog attack. Just before 3:00 am Saturday morning, (September 19, 2026), deputies were called to a residence in the 4300 block of Bertie Street north of Vidor in reference to a baby not breathing. The child had severe injuries that are wounds that are consistent with wounds caused by a dog. The infant died at the scene. The mixed breed, partbull and Akita, has been quarantined.
