Two motorcyclists killed within days

In a three-day span, two Southeast Texas motorcyclists have died, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported.May 2, Ryan Walter, 42, of Nederland, was pronounced dead at the scene by a justice of the peace following a crash that happened at about 3:48 p.m.

Man struck and killed in Orange

April 23, a man was struck and killed by a vehicle in Orange, according to the Orange Police Department. Officers were called to the 1900 block of MacArthur Drive about 5:52 a.m.Upon arrival, officers located Dale Rose II, 59, of Bulverde.

Room dedicated to fallen deputy

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office held a dedication ceremony April 22 for a conference room now named in honor of Deputy Lesley Jo Wade, according to Sheriff Chuck Havard.Wade, 24, died in an off-duty auto collision Dec. 27, 2024.

Pedestrian killed in crash

April 28, at approximately 10:46 p.m., Beaumont Police Department (BPD) officers responded to the 400 block of MLK in reference to an auto-pedestrian crash. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased male in the roadway.

Car crashes into Lumberton coffee shop

The Lumberton Police Department reported a car slammed into the front of Good Grounds Coffee + Cafe, located in The Refinery in the 700 block of South Main Street, around 10:40 a.m. April 23.
