Teen on scooter struck by SUV

West Orange police report a teen is hospitalized after the scooter he was riding was struck by a scooter. It happened around 5:30 in the afternoon on Tuesday, Sept 29, at the intersection of Holley and Bonner Streets when the teen rode in front of a SUV.

National Night Out

Beaumont police are asking for the public's assistance in locating a robbery suspect.

Vidor man dies in wreck

Thw DPS reports a Vidor man died Friday night. Sept 25,  in a Jasper County wreck. The 23-year-old man was operating a utility vehicle in a ditch on FM 1131, eight miles south of Evadale, when he lost control of the vehicle and it overturned. He died at the scene.

Sex offender convicted

A registered sex offender has been convicted of Online Solicitation of a minor for Sexual Conduct and Possession of Child Pornography. The jury in Judge John Stevens courtroom at the Jefferson County Courthouse returned with the verdict against 47-year-old Jimmy King Jr. Friday morning.

Remains found in Newton County

The Newton County Sheriff's Office is investigating the discovery of human remains. The remains, found Thursday, Sept 24, were in a wooded area near the Wildlife Cat Refuge off of FM 82 near the Newton County line. It appears the remains are those of an adult human.
