PAPD searching for two involved in shootout

Around 5:45 Monday, Port Arthur police responded to a call in reference to a shootout on Highway 73, according to a news release. Officers learned that gunfire was exchanged between two individuals. Both suspects fled the scene before officers arrived.

Council to elect new mayor pro tempore

The Beaumont City Council will vote on a potentially new mayor pro tempore at its regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday afternoon.  The position is currently held by Councilman W.L. Pate, who was elected to the position last year.
