Beaumont Chamber names economic chair

The Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce Chair and Past-Chair, Rebekah Maxwell and Josh Smith, announced that Chris Fisher, Port of Beaumont President and CEO, has agreed to Chair the Chamber’s Economic Development Division for this fiscal year, which began on Oct. 1.

For about two decades, Silsbee ISD has not seen a twirler on the field under the Friday night lights, but one performance from sixth grade student is Ava Patterson at Edwards-Johnson Memorial Silsbee Middle School could be the spark the district needs to reignite the passion for twirling.

Hardin County girls win titles

A pair of Hardin County girls were named to the 2022 Southeast Texas Western Royalty lineup this month – Sophomore Reanna McMillan, an officer for the Silsbee High School FFA, and junior Brooke Brinkley, of the Lumberton FFA.

Monster Dash is Oct. 29

Saturday, Oct. 29, lace up and get ready for a frightfully good time at the Gif of Life 5K Monster Dash Ribbon Run. Registration continues through 8:30 a.m. on the day of the run, so head to the Civic Center in downtown Beaumont, 500 Main Street, to sign up for the day’s festivities.
