Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced Dec. 29 that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) is awarding $150 million in Mega Grant funding for the I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge replacement project between Lake Charles and Westlake.

Program on trafficking set at H-JHS

One killed in auto-pedestrian fatality Dec. 29

The Beaumont Police Department (BPD) reported a 30-year-old man was killed in an auto-pedestrian fatal crash in the 5900 block of College Street on Dec. 29. On Dec. 30, police identified the victim as Justin Stanford.

Beaumont Farmers Market closed Jan. 7

The Beaumont Farmers Market will be closed this weekend, and will reopen on Saturday, Jan. 14, to operate from 8 – 11 a.m. “The market may be closed, but we are working behind the scenes to bring you a new look in 2023,” administration shared at the end of 2022.
