The Lumberton Police Department reported 12 people were arrested from Jan. 3-10. Dec. 9, Yuxiang Mao, 19, was arrested for unlawfully carrying a weapon (Class A misdemeanor) and Lover G. Garrett, 46, was arrested for criminal trespass (Class B). Dec. 7, two people were arrested on drug charges.

PD seeking help in solving murder

Beaumont Police Department (BPD) investigators need help solving the murder of Joshua Yates. Dec. 31, 2021 at 7:35 p.m., Beaumont Police responded to a welfare check and located Joshua Yates, 34, of Beaumont, deceased in his home. The investigation revealed Yates died from gunshot wounds.

Silsbee PD substance suspects

Two people were arrested on multiple charges on the same day, according to the Silsbee Police Department. Jan. 6, Brandon Dwayne McGalin, 35, was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm by felon, a third-degree felony and possession of a controlled substance, Penalty Group 1, 200-400 grams.

Juvenile in custody over school threat

A 13-year-old juvenile was taken into custody after allegedly posting a threat on social media. According to a Jan. 6 announcement by Vidor ISD officials, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) was made aware of the juvenile’s threat on Snapchat.

Bond set for alleged bank robber

Friday, Jan. 6, Beaumont police responded to Chase Bank located at 6025 Eastex in reference to a bank robbery. Prior to officers’ arrival, the suspect fled in a vehicle, of which witnesses were able to give a description, including the license plate number.
