Pioneering Women hosted its annual luncheon Thursday, August 6, 2026 at the Holiday Inn-Walden Road in Beaumont. Featured speaker Lori Ryerkerk, who was introduced by The Examiner's Jennifer Johnson, says "Women need to be confident and can play a role in any game". As for her message to young ladies "Find the things you like, stick with it and have the life you want". Also recognized were the 2026 honorees Cheryl, Zomora Gjyriqi, Lisa Kelly Fobbs, Kathy Rodgers, Ana Mijares, Jevonne Pollard, Michelle Freeman, and Janice Roberts Soloman. Chris Fisher, Director and CEO of the Port of Beaumont, was named the 2026 Lavender Man of the year. Pioneering Women gives back to the community in many ways including scholarships.
