The first day of school in Lumberton Wednesday was slowed after an 18-wheeler hauling wooded pallets turned over spilling the cargo on the highway. The driver, 48-year-old Demarcus Dewayne Bruno, was traveling south on Highway 96, near Lorrie Lane, when he lost control and the rig turned over on its side. Lumberton Chief of Police Danny Sullins tells The Examiner they received multiple calls of Bruno driving erratically prior to the crash. Bruno was arrested and charged with DWI. He was booked into the Hardin County Jail.
