John Christopher Adcock, 41, of Nederland allegedly robbed Mellow Mushroom in Beaumont by eating and attempting to dash – but failed to get out of the door before threatening employees of the restaurant with bodily harm.

Adcock, who is accused of committing the second-degree felony on April 23, 2022, was indicted for robbery by a Jefferson County grand jury on Jan. 25.

According to the indictment, Adcock was arrested on Dowlen Road by the Beaumont Police Department (BPD) officer that arrived at the Mellow Mushroom in reference to a disturbance call. The officer was advised that a male subject walked out after eating a pizza and not paying his bill. The restaurant manager informed the officer that Adcock intentionally threatened him at that time.

Adcock was located near the restaurant and transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility. Court records show Adcock committed a prior robbery, and was convicted of that crime on July 6, 2004.
