Vidor man arrested for unlawful restraint

Mark Marie, 43, of Vidor, was arrested June 14 and booked into jail, according to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.Deputies responded to the 200 block of County Road 828 regarding a welfare check involving a possible emotionally disturbed person.

Child injured in accidental shooting

A 5-year-old child suffered a gunshot wound in a shooting June 11.According to the Beaumont Police Department, at 2:46 p.m., officers responded to 4050 Maida Rd. in reference to a victim of a shooting.Upon arrival, officers located the child inside of the residence with a gunshot wound.

Woman convicted of felony drug possession

Billie Jo Petty, 46, was convicted June 9 of felony possession of a controlled substance in 128th District Court and sentenced to 18 months in a state jail facility, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
